Eddie J. Alford, School of Applied Arts and Sciences, Arizona State University, Polytechnic Campus, 7001 E. Williams Field Rd., 340 G. Wanner Hall, Mesa, AZ 85234

Various techniques have been used to measure vegetation cover and density in the sparse vegetative types such as the Arizona Upland Subdivision of the Sonoran Desert. Several of these techniques were evaluated for with respect to variance, repeatability, and resources needed for completing measurements.
