*The deadline has been extended until November 1, 2007 for Special Session Program submissions. Please click on the link below to submit an abstract to this program.

This is the site for online submission of abstracts for papers and posters for the joint annual meetings of the American Forage and Grassland Council (AFGC) and the Society for Range Management (SRM) from January 26 - 31, 2008 in Louisville, Kentucky at the Galt House Hotel and Suites .

The theme of the meeting is "Building Bridges: Grasslands to Rangelands", so our two professional societies will be addressing many common issues and research on the management of pastures, grasslands, and rangelands. All abstracts will be published on CD-ROM, which will be distributed with registration materials at the meeting. All abstracts will be reviewed -- notification of accepted abstracts will be made to the authors in October 2007.

Guidelines:

  • The correctness of the information submitted is the responsibility of the authors. It is essential that the email address of the presenting author is correct.
  • Abstracts and contact information can be saved and edited until the submission deadline date. Please be sure to write down the abstract number and password.
  • For graduate students, please indicate if you are eligible for an SRM graduate student award (MS paper, PhD paper, MS poster, or PhD poster) or would like to present in the AFGC Emerging Scientist Competition.
  • The best procedure for submitting abstracts online will be to compose the abstract with your favorite word processor and then to paste the text into the text boxes. Please use the italics font for genus and species names.
  • Abstract Text Guidelines:
Abstracts may not exceed 300 words in length.

The following file types may be uploaded: HTML document (*.htm), HTML document (*.html), Word document (*.doc), RTF document (*.rtf), or plain text document (*.txt).

The first choice of topics for contributed presentations and posters should be selected from the following general categories (hypertext links). Under each general category, a more detailed list of topics will be found. The full list of topics can be found by clicking here. Most contributed abstracts can fit under different topics, so please examine the entire list if you are not sure what topic area is most appropriate. Later during abstract submission, you will be asked to select a second and third choice for topics.
